Taking the plunge

This post was originally written on January 31st, 2010.

"Analysis is paralysis..."
My grandmother told me that once.  I've lived it many times.  I've been known to spend hours, days even,  reading product reviews prior to buying a new brand of lotion.  I first contacted Cross Cultural Solutions (CCS) for information on volunteering abroad about three years ago.  Since, I've revisited the issue a number of times, though something always held me back from finally taking the plunge.

Alas, at some point, one needs to close her eyes and take a risk.  So...I did it.  I'm heading a half a world away to volunteer.  And, while the analyzer in me has her freak-out moments (to date I've had exactly 8.5), the rest of me is excited beyond words.  An adventure awaits.  In five months and a handful of days, I'll be on my way.  Until then, I'll be annoying all who know me with Thailand fun facts.  Sorry in advance.
